While it may be true that the Deficit grew under Reagen, one simple fact remains.
He cut taxes and increased revenue. Spending was the problem. It did end the Cold war though. Key to his policy though,was he cut taxes on the top wage earners and big business. Jobs were created by the free market and Gov.
revenues increased. No Gov. bailouts,but rather "Get Gov. out of the way" Capitalism worked.
the progressive approach is somewhat different in theory and result.
You couple increased taxes with decreased revenue along with out of control spending on Gov.programs and.....

Decrease the burden on business with tax cuts and create more jobs. More jobs mean more workers paying into the revenue poll. It's called Trickle Down economics.It works with fiscal responsibility. That's a simple fact.
Second thing that has to happen is that Big Brother curb spending. Gov. bailouts and expansion of so called Rights that are called entitlements are nothing more in the end than Gov. keeping poor voters dependent on them.
